The independent standard for human capability with AI
AIQ Institute defines, assesses and certifies human capability with AI. It maintains one spectrum of fifteen strands and six levels, examines people in a live assessment, and keeps a public register of every certificate. It is independent of every training provider and does not deliver training.
Six levels, one reading line
A certificate always reads the same way, so a level means the same thing in every strand.
- 1SparkAIQ number 1–14You have seen it work and know where it breaks.
- 2TorchAIQ number 15–29You carry your own light: AI does real work for you every day.
- 3BeamAIQ number 30–44Focused and reliable: you deliver outcomes for others with it.
- 4BeaconAIQ number 45–59Others steer by you: you design systems and set direction.
- 5LuminaryAIQ number 60–74You teach, examine and set standards. Licensed to train.
- 6NovaAIQ number 75–90You move the field: a method, tool, dataset or standard others adopt.
Every strand uses the same six levels. A person holds one level per strand; the sum across the fifteen strands is the AIQ number, out of 90. Read the level definitions.
Six streams, fifteen strands
Strands group into streams by who they serve. Each strand has its own six-level ladder.
Fluent

Build
Make things with AI. People who make things.
Systems
Agents and models. Engineers and researchers.
Trust
Data, law, governance. Officers, counsel, leaders.
Venture

How certification works
Choose a strand and level
Take the free placement test if unsure. It recommends a level and nothing more.
Sit the live assessment
Identity check, camera and screen on, a sandbox, and an adaptive oral viva.
Be scored by rubric
Scoring is logged against a published rubric, and a sample is double-marked by human examiners.
Receive your credential
A badge, a profile entry and a verification code, checked on the public register.
Published results
Pass rates. Published quarterly from the first cohort, per strand and level, and by provider tier.
